Technology developed led to the emergence of a series of needs to connect and share data between TV and mobile devices. The electronics companies have since equipped their respective TVs with the same connections. Samsung is no exception, being a pioneer in television technologies. Samsung has soon equipped many common connections on its image acquisition devices.
HDMI is a connection standard capable of transmitting high quality video and audio from a mobile device to a television on the same cable. If before, to transfer content with the old cable, people had to use 3 different cables, the HDMI appeared to reduce this frills.
HDMI can be used with devices such as smartphones, laptops, and televisions. On Samsung TVs, HDMI usually has 2 to 4 input ports, depending on the model. For example, 55 inch Samsung UA55HU7200 LED Smart TV has 4 input ports while 40 inch Samsung UA40H5100 LED TV has only 2 ports.
USB is a connectivity standard for transmitting and receiving multimedia data that was first introduced on computers. When the television is equipped with intelligent communication that can receive and read entertainment files in various formats, the USB connection is built directly into the TV. It makes it easier to use without having to switch cables from a computer.
What is MHL, this is a new generation connectivity standard that also conveys images and sound from a mobile device to an external monitor similar to HDMI.
The advantage of this interface is that when connected to a TV, your mobile device will be charged at the same time, limiting the sudden battery outage compared to using HDMI. MHL is now integrated directly into the HDMI cable with one end being a Micro USB port and the other end being an HDMI port to connect to a TV. The connection is also quite simple.
